This year I had the great pleasure of working with ReachAbility to run a series of filmmaking workshops for their youth clients. ReachAbility works hard to empower individuals with varying ‘disabilities’ through recreational, career, legal and other support services— one ability at a time. We hoped to show that filmmaking can be an outlet for expression as well as am amazing tool and skill set.
I was thrilled to hear that after the workshops, several of the participants announced they will be going on to make their own films to submit to the Bluenose Ability Film Festival. In honour of their films, which I can’t wait to see, here’s a little something I made out of some interviews we conducted in the first workshop.
What a wonderfully inspired crew!
Thanks for a great workshop!
