Letters to Jasmine

Director of photography and camera operator for a documentary film made in partnership with the National Film Board for Ocean School.

Tamara, a Cuban-Canadian filmmaker, reaches out to Jasmine, a Newfoundland fish harvester, to learn about the challenges women face in the fishing industry. While Jasmine shows Tamara how to haul in a crab pot, they explore the historic and current roles of women in fisheries, and how to fish sustainably. As Tamara catches her first fish, they reflect on the importance of preserving local fisheries for future generations.
